Overview

The Sunyani Teaching Hospital previously known as Sunyani Regional Hospital is the last of the series of ultra-modern hospitals established by the Ministry of Health (MOH) in the late 1990's. It was constructed by International Hospital Group (IHG) of the UK and handed over to the Government of Ghana in 2003. It was officially commissioned by the Former President John Evans Atta Mills in November, 2009. The Hospital had been operating as a secondary level facility since 4th August, 2003 under the leadership of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) until its conversion into a Teaching Hospital. The hospital covers an area of 315.7 acres. Currently the hospital has 350 beds and it is strategically located to provide advanced health services to the people of the Bono, Ahafo, Bono East regions beyond including clients from Cote d'ivoire and Burkina Faso.

Change of Status
