MyJoyOnline reports that Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh directed all public teaching hospitals to operate 24-hour outpatient and laboratory services, and specifically tasked the National Health Insurance Authority and the Health Facilities Regulatory Authority to fast-track Sunyani Regional Hospital’s accreditation as a teaching hospital. “The NHIA and HeFRA are accordingly directed to treat the Sunyani Regional Hospital as a teaching hospital and not as any hospital,” the Minister said.
